• Prepare a clean cloth and a small amount of clean engine oil (for lubricating the new O-ring).
• Inspect the new O-ring for any cracks, deformation, or burrs.

🔄 Removing the Old O-Ring

• Locate the oil filter cover (usually on the side or bottom of the engine).
• Using the appropriate tool (e.g., socket wrench), carefully remove the filter cover bolts and take off the cover.
• Remove the old O-ring from the cover's sealing groove and inspect it for signs of aging (hardening, cracking, or flattening).
• Thoroughly clean the sealing groove and mounting surface, removing any old sealant residue and oil deposits.

• Apply a thin, even coat of clean engine oil to the new O-ring (this aids installation and prevents initial dry run).
• Carefully place the O-ring into the filter cover's sealing groove, ensuring it is fully seated without twists or kinks.
• Gently press the O-ring around the groove to confirm it sits flat and even, with no raised or depressed spots.
• Align the filter cover with the mounting position and push it in slowly, taking care not to dislodge or pinch the O-ring.

• Tighten the filter cover bolts to the torque specified in the service manual (do not over-tighten, as this may damage the O-ring).
• Start the engine and let it idle for a moment; check for any signs of oil leakage around the filter cover.
• If leakage is found, immediately turn off the engine and check whether the O-ring is properly seated or if the bolt torque is correct.
